In 1865 Deventer got its first station as part of connecting all major cities in the Netherlands with railway lines. The current station in Deventer dates from 1914 and has remained completely intact. You can recognize this by the tile pictures and the wooden benches. There are 3 waiting rooms at the station. Waiting room 1 was for the richer class, waiting room 2 for the middle class and waiting room 3 for the people with the least money. These waiting rooms are still used, but the only difference is that they have now been given a different function.
